Irene Markman Geisner, Ph.D, is a Clinical Psychologist who specializes in providing coaching and consulting to adults who are seeking relief from suffering and/or support in making positive changes in their lives. Dr. Geisner has held a position at the University of Washington’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences where she conducted research in college student mood disorders, substance use and abuse, and other health and risk behaviors. She saw patients for psychotherapy at the Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic and trained and supervised Psychiatry Residents.

With Eastside Psychological Associates, Irene works with a wide range of clients in a motivationally enhancing, goal oriented, solution focused style. Mood and anxiety are specific areas of expertise, and she also enjoys coaching and consulting with people who are making educational and career decisions and is an expert in helping with resumes, cover letters, entrance essays, the interviewing process, and follow up. Irene loves working with those interested in learning new skills across personal, interpersonal, and professional domains. Irene uses her skills gained in over 20 years of experience in conducting cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical-behavior therapy, and other empirically supported treatments to coach clients in overcoming obstacles that keep them from achieving their goals.
